Fiberglass is a derivative of resin. It does not refer to the same kind of sculpture material.
Fiberglass, also known as GRP, is a fiber-reinforced plastic, generally referred to as glass fiber reinforced unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin, and phenolic resin matrix. A reinforced plastic made of glass fiber or its products as a reinforcing material, called glass fiber reinforced plastic, or glass fiber reinforced plastic.
Because of the variety of resins used, it is called polyester fiberglass, epoxy glass-reinforced plastic, and phenolic glass reinforced plastic. Light and hard, non-conductive, high mechanical strength, low recycling, corrosion resistance. Machine parts and automobiles, ship casings, etc. can be manufactured instead of steel.
Resins are generally considered to be normal metabolites or secretions of plant tissues, often in combination with volatile oils in the secretory cells of plants, in resin channels or conduits, especially in catheters of perennial woody plant heartwood.
