Several molds have their own advantages and disadvantages: silicone mold: advantages, silicone rubber before the use of fluid state, flow and filling good, with large elastic deformation, no loss to the original mold, non-adhesive can be smoothly demolded. The finished sculpture is the best.
Disadvantages, the cost is extremely high. The crosslinked body is easily deformed and needs to support the carrier. Fiberglass mold: advantages, can be used multiple times, the finished product is also good.
Disadvantages, easy to wear and deform. Plaster mold: It is disposable and low in cost.
When making a mold, it is necessary to divide the mold into several parts according to the shape of the product.
The third step: Fiberglass sculpture transformation, the general production using hand lay-up method. According to the overall shape and characteristics of the sculpture, it is easy to form and demould, so the mold is decomposed into several parts for turning. The advantage is that it does not damage the mold, is easy to install and is easy to splicing.
Generally, large-scale Fiberglass sculptures need the following steps: sculptural splicing and assembly, and splicing several finished parts into a sculpture as a whole. After the joint processing of the sculpture, after splicing several finished parts, the gap needs to be bonded and polished. The sculpture bracket is made to build a stable skeleton supporting the finished Fiberglass sculpture. The general situation is mainly steel. Note: If some of the sculptures are difficult and complex in shape, they can be made into a general shape with the corresponding metal materials, and then the Fiberglass is formed on the material and trimmed by grinding.
Some areas where Fiberglass is difficult to lay can be filled with resin and then placed with fiberglass and woven cloth. The surface layer is made of resin putty (with a length of 10 mm). When molded, the metal skeleton is buried in the sculpture. Improve the rigidity of the sculpture, increase the service life, and finally install it with a metal skeleton.
The fourth step: post-processing method
Post-processing, trimming the local defects of the Fiberglass sculpture, focusing on the surface effect.
The surface is scraped with resin putty for fine grinding.
Surface effect treatment, through painting, spraying, distressing, gold-plating, etc., can be used to imitation gold, silver, copper, antique copper, imitation jade, imitation stone, and other effects, such as antique copper techniques and effects have more than a dozen Kind, the copper rust is true, the pattern and texture are very beautiful.
