Mold trimming: clean the mold, wipe it with a soft gauze, the surface must be free of impurities.
Glass fiber reinforced plastic coating release agent: the release agent must be uniform and not missing. Polyvinyl alcohol needs to be thoroughly dried, and release agents such as glazing wax and non-silicone oil paste need to be left for two hours to allow the solvent to evaporate.
Gel coat resin: Gel coat ingredients should be thoroughly mixed, especially when using fillers and pigments. Uneven mixing will cause spots or streaks on the surface of the product and affect the appearance. The thickness of the gel coat should be precisely controlled. During construction, it can be painted with a brush. When the gel coat is cured to the finger, it feels slightly sticky but does not stain the finger. At this time, the layer can be paste.
Cutting glass fabric: According to the size and thickness of the part, calculate the number of layers of glass fabric required. The size of the glass fabric should be slightly larger than the mold tire. If necessary, you can use the template blanking.
Glass fiber reinforced plastic manufacturing: According to the required gel time and environmental conditions, select the type and ratio of curing agent and accelerator. When you need to make colored products, you can add a small amount of color paste.
Paste: first apply a thick layer of resin on the gel coat layer as evenly as possible, and then spread the first layer of glass reinforcement material, preferably with a surface felt or 0.16mm glass cloth, and use a brush to make it strong. Will easily penetrate through the glass fabric. Do not pour the resin on it until the glass fabric is fully saturated.
Continue to paste the resin and glass fabric below until the desired thickness is achieved. For each layer, the glass fabric must be completely saturated. Make every layer of fabric exhaust air bubbles and fit the tire well. After several tests, it is recommended to use a layer of surface felt, a layer of chopped felt, and then paste the glass cloth to the thickness structure. This can prevent the fiber cloth pattern from seeping through the gel coat layer and affecting the surface quality of the product.
When embedding metal parts, the thickness of the product should start from the place where the insert is inserted, and the transition can not be thinner slowly. When reinforcing ribs need to be added, it is best to put the ribs directly before the last layer of glass fabric is laid. The core should be covered with resin-impregnated glass fabric, and then the last layer of glass fabric should be spread over the entire area of the product.
Room temperature curing: After the parts are pasted, they need to stay on the mold for more than 24 hours to complete the curing period.
Glass fiber reinforced plastic mold release: first remove the edge of the part, and then remove the part. For parts that are difficult to get out of the mold, compressed air can be blown between the part and the mold. Support the burrs according to the cutting line and repair the defects: Use a jigsaw or angle grinder to cut the burrs along the edge line of the part, and repair the defective parts on the surface of the part.
Fiberglass manufacturing edge banding: glass fiber is not water resistant. The fiber-reinforced plastics cutting section is exposed to fibers. After immersion in water, it is easy to cause delamination of the product and affect the quality of the product. Therefore, Fiberglass parts should be edge-sealed. The method is to uniformly paint a thin layer of glue on the cutting section of the part with the resin glue equipped with the curing agent and the accelerator.
Fiberglass manufacturing and maturation: The parts must be stored for more than one week after demolding to ensure that the parts are completely cured.
Fiberglass paint spraying: Before spraying paint, all traces of release agent on Fiberglass products should be washed away. Spray paint in the desired color of the product. Low temperature paint should be used, and the drying temperature of the paint should not exceed 80 ° C.
